NHS - Kindness Counts

Dani Gravel

What better way to raise money for a fundraiser than to help out in our community and get sponsored? The National Honor Society is a group of individuals who go out of their way to make a difference in the lives of others in their community, school, and within themselves. They are putting on a fundraiser for March where people in the chapter will do good deeds that they have come up with and send emails out to people they think would be interested in helping sponsor our chapter and activities. Some examples include helping younger students with their homework, donating gently used items, and cleaning stuff up around the community.

The National Honor Society from Anamosa uses four pillars to give back to the school and the community around them. These four pillars are Leadership, Scholarship, Character, and Service. We thought a good way to use all of these pillars was our new fundraiser. We exemplify many different qualities throughout the year to get projects accomplished. It is a great way for individuals to get involved in the school with others who possess some of the same leadership qualities. Examples of other projects we have done are laundry detergent making, donating to the Food Pantry in Anamosa, and hosting many blood drives.

You can donate to the chapter as a whole by scanning the posters with the QR code around the school or get with a member of the National Honor Society and donate to their individual goals. As a chapter we want to get more involved in our community and spread kindness, we hope that in return for volunteering our time, you will consider donating to help us continue our projects.
